A Farm with Generational Roots

Cloudberry Farm is a 33-acre farmette co-owned with my mother. The small buisness concept grew out of an inherited stretch of my father’s farmland where I grew up. Our shared Swedish heritage inspired both the name and brand, weaving tradition with vision to cultivate a third-generation legacy—with a new crop twist.

 

The Concept

A modern farm destination with Nordic flair, Cloudberry Farm blends agriculture, hospitality, and storytelling into one experiential haven. Future farm location features would include:

  • A quaint farm market stocked with seasonal produce and handmade goods
  • A garden café and greenhouse
  • An ice cream stand serving berry-forward and floral flavors
  • Event venue with outdoor seating under string lights
  • Sleepover luxury eco domes.
  • A commercial-grade playground for families and little explorers

Train Car Dining Experience

Originally nestled beside the Norfolk Southern Railway line, the dream for the future farm’s iconic spot is to transform a vintage railcar into a bar and al fresco dining experience, a nod to the town’s historical roots in Smyrna Station. Guests can sip, snack, and savor as freight trains rumble by, creating a one-of-a-kind rural rhythm.

Midsummer Magic and Julbord

One day, Cloudberry will host immersive themed dinners like a Swedish Midsummer celebration honoring the solstice, local strawberries, and long daylight hours. Think flower crowns, Nordic dishes, and family-style feasts under the stars. A winter counterpart of an annual Julbord,  a Swedish Christmas table celebrating warmth, light, and seasonal abundance.

At Cloudberry Farm, we will honor the old Nordic tradition of sharing a winter feast filled with comforting dishes, glowing candles, and good company. From slow-braised roasts and pickled delights to rustic breads and sweet saffron treats, each plate will tell a story of home, heritage, and hearth.
