Game Design & Visual World-Building for a Mythic Cosmic Strategy Board Game

Step into a celestial coliseum where ancient gods duel with galactic forces. In Star Clash, players command legendary beings—from Greek titans like Zeus and Athena to celestial giants like quasars, black holes, and sentient supernovae—in an epic battle for control of the cosmos.

The Concept

Star Clash is a mythologically inspired strategy board game that merges storytelling, tactical combat, and world-building gamifying everything for subtle educational outputs. The game unfolds across a zodiac constellation-shaped board where mythological deities, heroes, and cosmic anomalies compete to shape the fate of the universe.

Players take on the role of a mythic force (Olympian, Norse, Babylonian, or Stellar Entity), mastering powers, forming uneasy alliances, and launching attacks across time and space to seize dominion over the galaxy.

Visual Language

The art direction blends classic mythological motifs with high-fantasy space. Visual influences include:

  • Golden Age Greek pottery designs fused with nebula color palettes

  • Holographic constellations & elemental sigils

  • Glow-etched game tokens representing elemental forces (ether, gravity, time)

  • Oversized character cards with illustrated lore backstories

I designed the game, brand, iconography, board layout, modular components, user interface for cards and pieces.
