Brand Story

Inspired by cherished meals shared with my Swedish grandmother, Iva, Swede Dish celebrates heritage through food. The brand combines Nordic ingredients with healthy, Americanized recipes to reflect my life in the Mid-Atlantic—a region whose marshes and waterways mirror parts of Sweden’s landscape.

At the heart of the brand is a logo featuring a dish with a glacier and its reflection, a fish below the surface, and a circular frame evoking the Arctic Circle. The negative space represents the Atlantic Ocean—a bridge between Sweden and America. Like the Viking spice trade that expanded Swedish cuisine centuries ago, I blend multicultural flavors and revive traditional recipes with fresh, approachable updates.

This is my take on Swedish-American cuisine: adaptable, vibrant, and personal.

My goal is to modernize nostalgic recipes, keeping their cultural essence while enhancing flavor and accessibility. Think: pickled herring reimagined, lingonberries with roasted squash, or a spiced cardamom cake with oat flour.
